: Our Japan Wedding Story＊
We never really talked about the specifics of the wedding we wanted, even before the wedding proposal in 2023. We just knew that after many years together, it felt like the right time for us to take our long-term relationship to the next level.

Without any pressure, we occasionally looked at wedding venues online, but nothing serious. No spreadsheets, no detailed planning. Just a few churches and reception venues saved on Google Maps. That same year, we were much more focused on traveling. After the COVID travel restrictions were lifted, we did what many people did, “revenge travel”. During one of our trips to Japan, the idea of having a wedding there casually came up after we accidentally came across a white chapel with a glass altar overlooking a vast body of water inside a theme park. It felt exciting and different, especially since Japan had always been a place that felt like home to us.

For a while, we were already envisioning our wedding there. But eventually, the venue we initially had in mind informed us that they could no longer accommodate weddings for our target date.
Our whole world shattered. For months, we had already been imagining our wedding in Japan. We hadn’t even considered a backup plan. We felt lost and didn’t know where to start again. For weeks, we took a break from thinking about our wedding, since we felt frustrated and sad.

One night, as we were about to fall sleep, a simple but brilliant idea came to us, “Since we always stay in Tsujido, why don’t we search for wedding venues around the Kanagawa/Shonan area? It’s nearby, and it has the bay view we’ve always dreamed of.” It immediately reignited the excitement in us. As we searched, there were only a handful of venues that appeared, and we messaged all of them right away. The first one to respond was AT Terrace Ninomiya, through Instagram.

Other venues required filling out inquiry forms in Nihongo on their websites, which was quite difficult since we couldn’t read, write, or speak Nihongo fluently. But the A&T Wedding team made everything so easy. They simply asked a few questions, whether we would bring our own dress and tuxedo, and whether we preferred a Protestant-style wedding, or a Japanese Shinto ceremony.

From there, we started communicating through email. They sent us their wedding package, and it was exactly what we had envisioned: straightforward, elegant, and thoughtfully planned. There were many back-and-forth emails about our preferences, and the A&T Wedding team responded with so much patience and grace.

Fast forward to January 2025, we finally flew back to Japan for our ocular visit scheduled on February 2025.
We have nothing but praises for Asami-san and her team. The unconditional hospitality they showed us that day was something we had never experienced before. Their warmth and professionalism immediately made us feel at ease. It wasn’t just the glass altar, the view of Sagami Bay, or the clear blue skies that convinced us, but most especially the smiles on the A&T Wedding team’s faces.

Two days later, we confirmed that AT Terrace Ninomiya would be our wedding venue. We chose February 8, 2026 as our wedding day because it marked exactly 10 years since we first began our journey together.

During our second visit, we had our food tasting and it was incredible. We remember thinking, how are they doing all of this for us when we haven’t even paid half of the wedding package yet? It was such a refreshing experience compared to how things are usually done back home. After that visit, Asami-san quickly arranged our costume fitting before we returned to the Philippines. Everything was handled so efficiently that we barely had time to stress or overthink anything.

When we finally went home to the Philippines, the A&T Wedding team continued helping us through email with every request and concern we had.

As someone who easily gets overwhelmed and tends to procrastinate when things become too much, their style of wedding planning was exactly what I needed. Everything was already thoughtfully arranged from the outfits we would wear to the smallest details of the ceremony. Honestly, it felt like all we had to do was simply show up and months passed quickly.

In October 2025, we had our civil wedding and locally registered our marriage in the Philippines. It was exactly how we wanted it. Simple, quiet, and intimate with our closest family and friends.

Before we knew it, January 2026 arrived and we found ourselves back in Japan for our final fittings and food tasting. Everything was slowly falling into place, and the excitement was starting to feel real. We had been telling our guests, family, and friends to expect a cold but sunny winter day in the area. Then about a week before the wedding, we saw a news report predicting snow during that same weekend. We didn’t think too much of it at first. After all, being a coastal area, snow in Kanagawa is quite rare.

On February 7, 2026, our guests joined us for a DIY trip in Kamakura. In the middle of our sightseeing, snow suddenly started falling. As Filipinos from a tropical country, this was such a magical experience. Even though we had to shorten our itinerary due to the weather, we ended the day early so everyone could rest before the wedding day.

The next morning, we woke up early for our 9:00 AM call time at Ninomiya Station. When we looked out the window, we were surprised to seeeverything was covered in snow. We had visited Tsujido many times before during winter, and never once had we seen snow there. Seeing the entire place blanketed in white left me speechless. In our heads, we kept thinking: Are we really going to have a white wedding?

We left the hotel at 8:00 AM, and the snowfall only grew heavier on our way to Ninomiya.
At the station, Takayuki-san greeted us with a big smile and told us that snow in Ninomiya was extremely rare and that this would be the first snowy wedding they would ever host at AT Terrace.
When we arrived at the venue, we were teary-eyed. It was more beautiful than anything we had seen before. Majestic, dreamy, and magical. It was everything we never expected. We always prayed for clear skies and a beautiful sunset, but it felt like God had better plans for us all along.

We were given something unforgettable: a true white wedding.
The A&T Wedding team even surprised us with a snack corner filled with their favorite treats, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good everything was.
While we were getting ready in the bride’s room, Shinko-san took such great care of us, making sure we stayed warm whenever we stepped outside for photos.
Our photo and video team was also incredible. Yamada-san captured the most natural and beautiful photos simply by asking us to be ourselves.
And the end-roll video by Taishi-san captured moments we never even realized were happening.
It’s something we will cherish forever.

From the very beginning until the wedding day itself, you didn’t just deliver. You exceeded every expectation we had.

私たちの日本ウェディングストーリー

2023年のプロポーズ以前から、実は私たちは「どんな結婚式にしたいか」を具体的に話したことはありませんでした。ただ、長く一緒に過ごしてきて、そろそろ次のステップに進むタイミングだと自然に感じていました。
プレッシャーもなく、時々オンラインで式場を見てはいましたが、本気で探していたわけではありません。スプレッドシートも計画書もなし。ただ、Googleマップにいくつかの教会や会場を保存していただけでした。同じ年、私たちは旅行に夢中でした。コロナの渡航制限が解除され、多くの人がしたように“リベンジトラベル”を楽しんでいました。
そんな日本旅行のひとつで、偶然、テーマパークの中にある大きな水辺を望むガラスの祭壇を持つ白いチャペルを見つけました。その瞬間、「日本で結婚式を挙げる」というアイデアがふっと湧き上がり、とてもワクワクしたのを覚えています。日本はいつも私たちにとって“帰ってきたように感じる場所”だったからです。
しばらくの間、私たちはその場所での結婚式を思い描いていました。しかし、希望していた日程での挙式が難しいと連絡がありました。
その瞬間、世界が崩れ落ちたようでした。
何ヶ月も日本での結婚式を夢見ていたのに、バックアッププランすら考えていなかったのです。どこからまた始めればいいのか分からず、しばらく結婚式のことを考えるのをやめてしまいました。
そんなある夜、眠りにつく前にふと素晴らしいアイデアが浮かびました。
「いつも辻堂に滞在しているんだから、神奈川・湘南エリアで式場を探してみたらどうだろう？近いし、ずっと夢見ていた海の景色もある。」
その瞬間、またワクワクが戻ってきました。
検索すると、出てきた式場はほんの数件。私たちはすぐにすべてに連絡しました。
最初に返信をくれたのが、InstagramでのAT TERRACE 二宮でした。
他の式場は日本語の問い合わせフォームの入力が必要で、私たちは日本語の読み書きが得意ではないため、とても大変でした。でもA&T WEDDINGの皆さんは本当に簡単にしてくれました。
「衣装は持ち込みか」「挙式スタイルはプロテスタントか神前式か」など、いくつかの質問をするだけでした。
そこからメールでのやり取りが始まりました。送られてきたウェディングプランは、まさに私たちが思い描いていた通り。シンプルで上品、そしてとても丁寧に考えられていました。
何度もメールで希望を伝えましたが、A&T WEDDINGの皆さんはいつも優しく、根気強く対応してくれました。
そして2025年1月、2月の現地見学のために再び日本へ。
その日、Asamiさんとチームの皆さんが見せてくれた“無条件のホスピタリティ”は、私たちが今まで経験したことのないものでした。温かさとプロフェッショナリズムに触れ、すぐに安心感に包まれました。
ガラスの祭壇、相模湾の景色、青空…それらすべてが素晴らしかったのはもちろんですが、何よりもA&T WEDDINGの皆さんの笑顔が決め手でした。
2日後、私たちはAT TERRACE 二宮を式場に決めました。
結婚式の日は、私たちが付き合い始めてちょうど10年となる2026年2月8日にしました。
2回目の訪問では試食をしましたが、本当に素晴らしかったです。
「まだ半分も支払っていないのに、どうしてここまでしてくれるんだろう？」と驚いたほど。
その後、Asamiさんは私たちがフィリピンに戻る前に衣装合わせまで手配してくれました。すべてがスムーズで、ストレスを感じる暇もありませんでした。
フィリピンに戻ってからも、A&T WEDDINGの皆さんはメールで丁寧にサポートしてくれました。
私はすぐに圧倒されてしまったり、物事が多くなると先延ばしにしてしまうタイプですが、A&T WEDDINGのスタイルはまさに私にぴったりでした。衣装から式の細部まで、すべてがすでに整えられていて、私たちはただ当日を迎えるだけ。気づけばあっという間に月日が過ぎていきました。
2025年10月、私たちはフィリピンでシビルウェディングを行い、婚姻登録も済ませました。家族と親しい友人だけの、静かで温かい時間でした。
そして気づけば2026年1月。最終フィッティングと試食のために再び日本へ。
すべてが少しずつ形になり、いよいよ現実味を帯びてきました。
ゲストには「寒いけど晴れた冬の日になるはず」と伝えていましたが、結婚式の1週間前、雪の予報が出ました。
「海沿いだし、神奈川で雪なんて滅多にないから大丈夫だよね」と思っていました。
2月7日、ゲストと一緒に鎌倉観光へ。
その途中で突然雪が降り始めました。
南国育ちの私たちにとって、それはまるで魔法のような瞬間でした。
予定を短縮しつつも、翌日に備えて早めに解散しました。
翌朝、9時の二宮駅集合に向けて早起き。
窓の外を見ると、一面の雪景色。
冬の辻堂には何度も来ていましたが、雪を見たのは初めてでした。
「本当に…白い結婚式になるの？」
胸がいっぱいになりました。
8時にホテルを出ると、雪はさらに強くなっていました。
二宮駅に着くと、タカユキさんが笑顔で迎えてくれ、「二宮で雪は本当に珍しく、AT TERRACEで雪の結婚式は初めてです」と教えてくれました。
会場に着いた瞬間、涙が溢れました。
想像を超える美しさ。
壮大で、夢のようで、魔法のようで。
私たちが願っていた“晴れと夕日”とは違ったけれど、神様はもっと素敵な計画を用意してくれていたのだと感じました。
私たちは“本物の白い結婚式”を贈られたのです。
A&T WEDDINGの皆さんは、私たちのためにスナックコーナーまで用意してくれて、ゲストも大喜びでした。
新婦控室では、しんこさんが私たちを丁寧にケアしてくれ、外での撮影のたびに温かくしてくれました。
写真・映像チームも本当に素晴らしかったです。
山田さんは、私たちが自然体でいられるように声をかけてくれ、最も美しい瞬間を切り取ってくれました。
たいしさんのエンドロールは、私たちが気づかなかった瞬間まで映し出してくれて、一生の宝物になりました。

あなたたちは、私たちの祈りそのものです。
最初から当日まで、ただ“期待通り”ではなく、“期待以上”を届けてくれました。
